'Even with a disability, I love sports!'

Hello. My name is Yoshida, and I'm 33 years old (female).
My husband was in an accident several years ago and has been using a wheelchair ever since. While it's not quite "caregiving," I'd like to share my experience this time.
Before the accident, my husband was an ordinary office worker, and although we weren't wealthy, we lived a comfortable life. Then, one day, he had an accident and was destined to live the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Once he started using a wheelchair, our lives completely changed. The inconveniences that we had never noticed before became glaringly obvious.
At the time, we were living on the second floor of an apartment, but we quickly moved and started living with my husband's parents. First, we started with renovations, such as installing handrails at the entrance and in the toilet, and we also bought a new car. With the help of my husband's parents, we were able to get our lives organized, but it was still difficult to come to terms with everything emotionally.
It was truly painful to see my husband, who was always so cheerful, looking downcast. But every time, I told myself, "He's the one who's truly suffering," and I managed to calm myself down.
As these days continued, what finally sparked my husband's interest again was wheelchair basketball. From that point on, our lives with my husband and wheelchair basketball began.
